Join Pacific Area Family Home Evening on Facebook Live

Elder S. Gifford Nielsen and his wife Sister Wendy Nielsen will be featured at a Family Home Evening with young Auckland Latter-day Saints on Monday, 10 April at 7:30 p.m. The event will be shared via Facebook Live.

Elder Nielsen is a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the Church’s Pacific Area Presidency.

During the interactive event, Elder and Sister Nielsen will share their insights and feelings on the 187th General Conference of the Church which they attended last weekend.

They will answer questions from participants (#pacificfamilynight) and provide counsel and encouragement on important issues young adults face as they strive to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.

In addition, Elder and Sister Nielsen look forward to sharing their feelings on how to grow closer to the Prince of Peace this Easter season.

YSA wards are congregations of young adults who are not married who worship together and support each other.

Family Home Evening is a Church program that encourages families of all types to meet together weekly and strengthen family members, and in YSA wards, strengthen each other in small or large groups.

A typical family home evening begins and ends with a prayer and usually includes singing, scripture reading, a short lesson on a religious or practical topic, and refreshments. Instead of a lesson, it might include a service project or fun activity.  It is most often held on Monday evening and is sometimes referred to as Family Night.

To join the Auckland YSA in the “fun and casual family night” on Facebook Live featuring Elder and Sister Nielsen, go to the Church’s  Pacific Area Facebook page.
